Rajasthan Vintage fabrics - 1900-40's

Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.
— Kahlil Gibran

My mother-in-law pulls out these antique fabrics handed down from her mother and her grandmother, which were lying wrapped in boxes and white tissue paper in her cupboards. She speaks about how they were worn for special occasions, such as the green velvet stole for marriages and her deep mauve jacquard fabric which was made into a 3 piece suit for her own wedding. Her grandmother’s fabrics were from the 1900's, made from hand woven jacquard with real gold thread on pure silk.
